REPORT: United Officials ‘Met On Tuesday Night’ With Agents Of 113M Rated La Liga Marksman

Manchester United have held talks with the entourage of Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to Marca.

The Madrid-based newspaper claims the Portuguese international’s representatives and officials from the Manchester club “met on Tuesday night” to discuss the prospect of a potential transfer.

At the moment, it appears discussions haven’t gone beyond a preliminary meeting as Atletico are not thought to be interested in selling Felix, who they signed for a club record fee (£113m) in 2019.

Intriguingly, Cristiano Ronaldo has been heavily linked with Atletico so whether the idea of a potential swap deal involving the United forward has been suggested, it isn’t known.

Diego Simeone is known to be a fan of Ronaldo but resistance from the club’s hierarchy has stopped them from pursuing a deal. The 37-year-old has also reportedly been offered to the likes of Chelsea, Napoli and Bayern Munich but there have been no takers so far.

In terms of Felix, Marca reports that, despite Atletico communicating their intention to keep the player, United could make a further attempt in “the next few days.”
