REPORT: United Meet With Spanish Club Officials Over £67m Transfer

Real Betis officials had lunch with representatives from Manchester United in London, according to the Estadio Deportivo.

The Seville based publication reports discussions were held over signing midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

Vice President Lopez Catalan and General Director Federico Martinez Feria reportedly met with United to talk about the Argentinian international.

It is believed the Red Devils were told that Lo Celso would cost €75m (£67m), mainly due to the fact that Betis have a 20% sell-on clause with the midfielder’s previous club, Paris Saint-Germain.

United are said to be very keen on the 23-year-old, despite the asking price, and may move ahead with an offer in the coming days.

However, a decisive attempt to secure a deal for Lo Celso may only happen if the Manchester club sell Paul Pogba.

In addition, Betis know the Argentine’s sale would be unpopular with the fanbase so any departure may have to be delayed while they secure two signings in order to placate supporters.

Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are the two other clubs who will look to rival United for Lo Celso’s signature this summer.
