REPORT: United ‘Have Shown Some Interest’ In Serie A Star Who Was Sold By Chelsea For 25M Last Year

Manchester United have “shown some interest” in AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website claims that the Red Devils have looked into the possibility of signing the defender over the “past few weeks”. However, the defender has instructed his representatives not to listen to offers from other teams.

Tomori is believed to be in line for a contract extension, despite the fact that he only joined the Serie A champions on a permanent basis from Chelsea for £25m last summer.

As a reward for his excellent form, the Rossoneri are intending to sit down and talk with the England international about extending his stay beyond 2025. They are keen to both increase his salary and add another two years to his current deal.

While it seems unlikely that United will be pursuing Tomori, the club are still looking to sign another centre-half. Lisandro Martinez is believed to be the main target but Ajax are now said to be holding out for around €60m (£50.7m).
