Manchester United have “set its sights” on signing Roma midfielder Alessandro Di Nunzio, according to ForzaRoma.info.

The Italian youth international’s performances have “caught the attention” of the Red Devils who are seriously considering making an offer for the player.

It is believed that no negotiations have taken place so far but Erik ten Hag’s side may need to move fast to secure Di Nunzio’s services, with a number of other European clubs also pursuing him.

The midfielder doesn’t turn 16 until April but he has looked impressive playing for Roma’s Under 16 team, in addition to his performances at international level.

D Nunzio has quickly moved through Italy’s age groups, having made his debut for the Under 15s last April before moving up to the Under 16s back in August. He has racked up nine caps so far. As well as scoring his first goal in a 2-1 win over Belgium in November, he has captained his country on three occasions.
