REPORT: United Contact Agent Of Chilean Midfield Enforcer Ahead Of £13m January Switch

Manchester United have contacted the agent of Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to FCInternews.it. The Italian website claims the Red Devils are keen on signing the midfielder in January.

Chief Executive Ed Woodward’s good relationship with the Chilean international’s representative Fernando Felicevich could help the move go ahead, but United do have rivals for the midfielder’s signature.

Inter Milan want Vidal on loan with an option to buy in the summer, and the Nerazzurri feel that manager Antonio Conte could prove to be an important factor as the pair worked together at Juventus.

The central midfielder is keen on leaving Barca after being restricted to just four starts this season, and the 32-year-old is said to have a valuation of €15m (£13m).

United are light in central midfield, having failed to replace Ander Herrera or Marouane Fellaini over the past year. With Nemanja Matic also rumoured to be on the way out of the club, an experienced replacement like Vidal may well be considered.
