Manchester United are the “hottest candidate” to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer, according to Sportbild.

Chelsea and Liverpool have been mentioned as possible alternative destinations in recent weeks but the German magazine claims the Red Devils remain in the driving seat for the player

Sancho is said to be keen to have his future sorted before the European Championships next month and it is believed that is a realistic ambition if United can come up with the funds to sign him in time.

Dortmund want a “guaranteed sum” of €95m (£82m), which is a substantial reduction on the €120m they asked for during the last summer transfer window.

It is now down to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the recruitment department to decide whether Sancho is still a priority target, or whether the transfer budget should be invested in a striker or another area of the pitch instead.
