REPORT: United And Arsenal Handed Big Boost In Battle To Sign 60M Portuguese Star

Wolves are “close” to finding a potential replacement for Ruben Neves, paving the way for the Portuguese international to leave Molineux this summer, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims that Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona are keeping tabs on Neves, and Wolves are seemingly resigned to losing him based on their transfer activity.

It is believed that the Midlands club are looking to sign Benfica B midfielder Martim Neto. While a deal may not be agreed until Roger Schmidt has been installed as manager at the Estadio da Luz this summer, it seems like the teenager could be on his way to England.

That would free up Neves to move clubs at the end of the season. He won’t be cheap, with it being reported in recent days that Wolves will demand £60m for the 25-year-old.

However, United need to strengthen their midfield options, and the Portuguese star’s ability on and off the ball will make him a very attractive target. We shall see how this transfer story develops.
