REPORT: Star ‘Close To Agreeing’ £76m United Switch But There’s One Catch

Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland is “close to agreeing” a £76m move to Manchester United, according to the Sun, but fans may not be able to see the 19-year-old in action straight away.

Salzburg want the Norwegian to stay on loan for the rest of the season. Both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the player himself would prefer the move to happen in January but the Austrian club are believed to be digging their heels in.

United could give into Salzburg’s demands as they are mindful of the competition for Haaland’s signature. They would like the forward to spearhead their attack in the second half of the campaign but they may lose him to one of the other 20+ interested clubs if they don’t accept the terms on offer.

The Red Devils may see it as a price worth paying. The player has already held talks with RB Leipzig after the German side submitted a bid for the teenager.
