REPORT: Solskjaer Will Be Handed Permanent Reins At United If He Secures Key Result

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be named permanent manager at Manchester United if his side triumph over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, according to reports.

Chief Executive Ed Woodward is said to be firmly behind the Norwegian keeping his job beyond the end of the season, although the final decision remains with the Glazers.

The feeling around the training ground, from both players and staff, is if Solskjaer does guide the team past PSG into the Champions League quarter-finals, the permanent role will be his.

United face the Ligue One champions in the first leg of their last 16 tie on Tuesday 12th February at Old Trafford. The Red Devils then play the second leg at the Parc des Princes three weeks later.

Before the first leg, they face Leicester today and Fulham at Craven Cottage next Saturday. Over the next few weeks, Solskjaer’s men will also face Chelsea in the FA Cup and Liverpool in the league.
