REPORT: Solskjaer Faces Battle With United Recruitment Team Over 90M Transfer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing resistance from his own recruitment team as the club consider pursuing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, according to ESPN.

While the Norwegian is a big fan of the England international, some at Old Trafford are less convinced that the player would be an improvement on what they already have in the squad.

It is believed there are misgivings over Rice’s lack of pace, while it has also been reported that there are concerns his attributes are too similar to Scott McTominay.

With that being the case, some feel there are better options on the market, who could be available for a lot less than the £80m to £90m that West Ham would demand for the midfielder.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be interested in Rice and it seems, for the moment at least, United are unlikely to be at the front of the queue to sign the 22-year-old.
