REPORT: La Liga Defender Has Already ‘Opted’ To Sign For United Despite Receiving ‘Several’ Other Offers

Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest has already “opted” to join Manchester United on loan, according to Sport.

The Catalan newspaper claims that the Red Devils are the American international’s preferred destination if an agreement can be found with Barcelona.

Dest has been told by his manager, Xavi, that he isn’t part of the La Liga club’s first-team plans and he has accepted that he will need to leave the Camp Nou in order to get game time.

Sport say that the fullback has received “several” offers from other teams. Chelsea have been linked with the player in the past, while Villarreal have also been mentioned as a potential suitor.

However, it appears Dest has his heart set on a reunion with his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag. It’s not believed that a loan fee will be required, while United may not have to pay all of the defender’s wages either.

Finalising the move may, though, depend on Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United want to offload the £50m signing before the transfer deadline, with Crystal Palace and West Ham showing interest in the player.
