Report Details United’s Transfer Stance As Both They And Chelsea Are ‘Offered’ Former Arsenal Ace

Manchester United are not that interested in signing Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang despite being “offered” the player, according to The Independent.

It is believed that Barca need to offload either Aubameyang or Memphis Depay before the transfer window closes and, with United needing to strengthen their forward options, they have been given the chance to sign the former Arsenal striker.

Chelsea have also been informed of Aubameyang’s availability and it appears that the Blues are the likelier destination for the 33-year-old as things stand.

From the look of things, it seems United were focused on recruiting Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic. Manager Erik ten Hag and his assistant Steve McLaren had worked with the Austrian before during their time at FC Twente.

However, the Manchester club have now cooled their interest in Arnautovic so we shall have to wait and see whether a move for Aubameyang is reconsidered or whether another target is pursued instead.
