Report Details Solskjaer’s Stance On Cristiano Ronaldo’s Potential Return To United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer “would like” Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford if the move could be worked out this summer, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claims the Portuguese international has instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to find out whether United or Real Madrid would be willing to take him back, after losing his enthusiasm at his current club Juventus.

It is thought that Real’s president Florentino Perez is less than enthusiastic, while Solskjaer’s openness to such a deal has led Ronaldo to become more attracted to a switch back to England.

Any transfer would be very complicated to pull off, particularly in the current economic climate, but it is believed that the 36-year-old is willing to take a massive pay cut from €31m a season to €20m a season to make a deal happen. It will be interesting to see if this story has any legs in the coming weeks.
