REPORT: Courtois Turns Down United Move As Part Of Swap Deal

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has rejected the idea of moving to Manchester United, according to reports in the UK.

The Spanish club reportedly offered the ex-Chelsea star as part of a proposal to sign David De Gea, only for the Belgian international to dismiss the possibility.

Courtois is believed to be keener on a move to Paris Saint-Germain with Real president Florentino Perez said to be now weighing up whether to use the keeper in a part exchange offer for Neymar.

Whether Real remain keen on signing De Gea as well, it isn’t known. The Spaniard is closing in on the last 12 months of his contract and so far there has been no breakthrough in negotiations.

Reports have suggested United are willing to offer £350,000 a week to keep their prized asset but the shot-stopper is holding out for a higher wage.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last gave an update on De Gea’s contract situation at the start of this month, saying:

“No updates from me on that one. Of course the club and David are in dialogue, so hopefully, they’ll agree. It’s out of my hands anyway, but I’m sure we’ll do what we can.”
