Manchester United could make Ajax winger Antony their first signing of the summer transfer window, according to reports in the English media.
It is believed that officials from the Manchester club are expected to be in Amsterdam to finalise a £40m deal. While some fans on Twitter are hopeful that the move will happen, others are far more sceptical:
Really hope this happens.

Multiple reliable sources have confirmed that United are interested in Antony, but you’d have to say that the £40m figure being quoted is pretty low.
It may be the case that United are hoping to reach an agreement for that price but Ajax are likely to hold out for a higher sum. The Eredivisie champions are not under pressure to sell after sanctioning Ryan Gravenberch’s move to Bayern Munich so negotiations for Antony could take longer than anticipated. Liverpool and Chelsea have scouted the player previously, though, so United won’t want talks to drag on.
