Real Betis Vs Manchester United: Match Preview & Injury News – United Could Be Without Six Players

Manchester United will take on Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín Stadium in the second leg of their Europa League tie on Thursday evening.

United have three players who will miss out on the Betis game with injuries. They are Christian Eriksen, Donny Van De Beek and starlet Alejandro Garnacho.

On top of this, an additional three members of playing staff are major doubts. Anthony Martial is still recovering from various injuries, while Marcel Sabitzer took a knock and Victor Lindelof is out with an illness. On a more positive note, Casemrio will be available to play – his suspension only applies to domestic competitions.

In the first leg of the tie against Betis, United ran roughshod over the Spaniards. They won by a wide scoreline of 4-1, with goals coming from Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst. This puts United in a very strong position to progress – but Erik Ten Hag’s men cannot allow themselves to think that the job is already complete.

United have won the Europa League on a single occasion, back in 2017. There, they defeated Ajax, with the Red Devils’ goals being scored by Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Betis, meanwhile, have never won the Europa League, despite qualifying for the competition on four separate occasions. It doesn’t look like this year will be their year, either – unless United completely fluff their lines in the second leg.
