Rashford To Become Second Footballer To Join Roc Nation

Marcus Rashford’s rise to success might get a massive boost as none other than Jay-Z has expressed an interest in signing a representation contract with the youngster. The famous rapper is currently running Roc Nation, a talent agency which in 2013 opened its doors to athletes not only musicians. Among the people represented by Jay-Z’s company we find Andre Ward, Miguel Cotto, several important basketball and baseball players and one very familiar face for football fans: Jerome Boateng. The World Cup winner started his collaboration with Roc Nation in 2015 and has a lot planned given the massive interest North America has shown in football lately.

Getting back to Rashford who is currently represented by his family, we could say that signing with Jay-Z’s company would be a big step up towards a bigger paycheck and much more international recognition. Manchester United’s youngster could become a real role model for youngsters across the US where there are few players of his age who can actually set an example through results and performance. Given the Devil’s sponsorship deal with Chevrolet and given the fact that United has the biggest fan base in the US, Rashford should possibly sign a contract with Roc Nation if is offered his way. Hopefully the fame does not go to his head as he is very, very young. He is also very talented though and deserves more exposure.

According to Metro, United will want to extend his deal soon as it is about to expire. Aside from an extension, Rashford should also get an increase as he is currently massively underpaid compared to other Premier League players and with most of his colleagues. Roc Nation in collaboration with SAM Sports managed to get Boateng around £75,000 per week which is a lot for the Bundesliga. Despite being just 18, Rashford’s season performance could get him as much as half of the Bayern Munich player is earning right now. Add to that the fact that Ashley Young  for instance at £100k a week has had limited impact on Manchester’s game this year, it`s safe to say Rashford is due for a big salary increase. Collaborating with Roc Nation will also bring him a bunch of endorsements and new deals. Again, his situation should be handled carefully as not to have him lose his head. Being 18 and getting that much attention could be damaging. Hopefully LVG or whoever manages Manchester United in the future will be able to take good care of Rashford as he might become one of the club’s best ever players.
