Rangnick Lines Up Deadline Day Swoop For 18M Rated World Cup Winner

Manchester United are preparing a last-minute move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to Sport (via Sport Witness).

The Catalan newspaper claims that Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick is a big admirer of the French World Cup winner, having previously tried to sign him for RB Leipzig six years ago.

Dembele has been told to leave Barca before tomorrow’s transfer deadline, with reports in the UK suggesting that he could be available for as little as £18m due to his contract situation.

The 24-year-old’s current deal expires in June and his club are not willing to let him leave on a free transfer, leading to interest from a number of teams.

United are not the only club in the frame to snap up Dembele, with Chelsea, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus having also been linked with the France international over the past few weeks. It is believed that the player’s preference is the Premier League but we shall see who he ends up joining.
