Rangnick Delivers Blunt Message To United Star As Agent Tries To Engineer January Transfer

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has told Anthony Martial that he must speak with him directly if he wants to leave Old Trafford next month.

The Frenchman’s agent Philippe Lamboley revealed that Martial is keen on moving clubs in January due to a lack of game time but, when asked about the comments, Rangnick replied by saying he won’t conduct business publicly:

“I don’t communicate with agents via the media or the press. The player hasn’t spoken with me or with us about it… To be honest, what his agent has said in the media is not that much of interest.”

Rangnick was then asked whether he would speak directly to Martial about Lamboley’s remarks but the Red Devils boss was adamant that the player should make the first move by talking to him.

“It should be the player. If a player wishes to go to another club, it should be the player who informs either the board or myself, whoever. I have never spoken to a player via media or agents.”

Martial has been suggested as a potential target for the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle and Barcelona, but reports in France claim that Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain would probably be his most likely destinations.

The striker is currently sidelined with a knee problem, and the timing of his agent’s comments were surprising, considering Rangnick has not yet had the chance to select him to play in a game.
