Pogba exit talks are false insists Jose Mourinho amidst Real Madrid rumours

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that rumours of Paul Pogba leaving the club this summer are “false”.

The France international has reportedly been eyed by Real Madrid after a difficult few weeks at Old Trafford, with the La Liga giants said to preparing a phenomenal £120 million swoop for the unsettled star at the end of the season.

Pogba was substituted during United’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the end of last month after a touchline spat with Jose Mourinho, and subsequently dropped for the following weeks trip to Huddersfield Town for youngster James McTominay.

After now returning to the starting line-up however, Mourinho has insisted Pogba will remain a United player next season.

“I think you are nice with your words – because when you say lot of speculation you should say a lot of lies. Don’t be nice, be objective and say lies.” said Mourinho when asked about the rumours linking with Pogba Real Madrid.

“It’s a big lie that our relation is not good, it’s a big lie that we don’t communicate, a big lie that we don’t agree with his positions and his involvement in the dynamic of the team.”

Not one to mince his words, Mourinho then went to to criticise the midfielder for his recent performances, only moments after defending his own relationship with the former Juventus midfielder.

“It’s easy and honest and objective to say Paul didn’t play well against Newcastle but some of the guys they are paid millions, don’t let people read things that are not true.” Mourinho continued.

“It’s my problem and Paul’s problem to improve his performance level, you don’t need to be a liar.”
