Pogba And Lingard In, McTominay And Pereira Out: United’s Predicted XI To Face Burnley

With just 48 hours between the Newcastle and Burnley fixtures, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have a decision over how many changes he makes.

After a convincing 4-1 win over the Magpies, the Norwegian may be hesitant to make too many alterations, and it is likely that he will opt for the same back five of David De Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

There will, though, need to be changes in midfield. With Scott McTominay sidelined with a knee injury, it’s almost certain that Paul Pogba will get his first start in three months.

Andreas Pereira did perform pretty well against Newcastle but Solskjaer may look to recall Jesse Lingard, considering he played just 30 minutes on Thursday and will have fresher legs.

Up front, there is an argument to be made for recalling Dan James, but it would be harsh to drop either Mason Greenwood or Anthony Martial. Considering Marcus Rashford’s recent form as well, the Welshman may have to stay on the bench.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Burnley:

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Pogba, Lingard, Fred, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford
