Pereira To Start And Lingard Dropped: Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Crystal Palace

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could field the same starting eleven against Crystal Palace as he did in the 1-1 draw against Wolves on Monday, but he may look to make a change or two to accommodate the threat the Eagles pose on the flanks.

United played with two central midfielders at Molineux, with Jesse Lingard playing in front of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, but Solskjaer may want to double up out wide to ensure Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend are not left on-one-one with his fullbacks.

He could allow both Marcus Rashford and Daniel James to drop back to provide extra protection for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw, but he will be keen to keep his front three as high up the pitch as possible.

For that reason, he may opt to recall Andreas Pereira to make it a three-man midfield, with the Brazilian able to cover down United’s right flank as well as joining in the attacks.

After a good full debut, James is likely to keep his place alongside Rashford and Anthony Martial up top. The pace and power of the front three should be too much for Palace who will likely be without their first-choice centre-back pairing of James Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Crystal Palace:
