Pedro Nears United Move

It’s no secret that the arrival of Luis Suarez has further pushed Pedro down the pecking order for Barcelona. The Spaniard, 28, has struggled for game time at the Nou Camp this season, and has now hinted he will seek a move away to secure more first team football.

Pedro is a product of the world famous Barcelona academy and has made almost 50 appearances for Spain.
Many reports across both Spain and the UK claim Pedro could be available for transfer this summer, as long as the buying team meet his £22m release clause.

Pedro scored the winner in Barcelona’s 5-4 Super Cup victory over Sevilla last night, and didn’t join the team in lifting the trophy amid reports he is ready to leave.

Barca’s technical secretary, Robert Fernandez, stated that the player had asked for a transfer. Something that didn’t bode well with Pedro.

“The sports director says I said I want out? He shouldn’t say that, I barely talked with him.” Pedro said.

“I talked with the president and others. This is a difficult situation for me, of course I wanted to start. I don’t know what will happen, but I will always be a Barça fan.”

“Do I want to leave? The answer is ‘no’, but my situation is difficult. It’s not about money, but about more playing time.”

Manchester United’s interest in the player looks to be in an advanced stage, and fans can probably expect to see the Spaniard in a United shirt by the weekend.
