Paul Pogba to demand huge wage increase following Alexis Sanchez arrival

Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts after reports that Paul Pogba will demand a huge wage increase at Old Trafford.

The Daily Mail report that the Frenchman will make his demands in light of United signing Alexis Sanchez, who will earn a reported £450,000 a week – a fee Pogba wants matched in his own wage packet.

Sanchez’s reported huge wages will see him become the Premier League’s highest paid player (by a long shot), and Pogba is not happy.

The Frenchman currently earns £200,000 each week with United, however it is a value that the player believes not to represent his worth to the club.

Pogba has three years left to run on the contract he signed in 2016 having rejoined the club from Juventus in a record £89m deal at the time.

He had originally signed a deal worth £167,00 a week at Old Trafford, however this was ramped up to a round £200,000 in the summer due to a clause in his contract, triggered when United returned to the Champions League via winning the Europa League last season.

Pogba has begun to show his best form for United this season, and was pivotal as the Red Devils came out 1-0 victors over Burnley over the weekend.

The 24-year-old is now 36 games unbeaten with the Red Devils and in 14 Premier League games, Pogba has 10 wins, four draws and no defeats.
