Owen Makes His Prediction As United Face Watford In The FA Cup

Ex-Manchester United striker Michael Owen is backing his former team to secure their passage into the next round of the FA Cup when they face Watford tomorrow evening.

The BT Sport pundit is expecting quite a few goals in this game as the Red Devils are creating a number of opportunities, and although they will still be without the suspended Edinson Cavani, he feels they will have the firepower to sink the Hornets:

“Despite playing well in patches, Manchester United were eliminated from the EFL Cup on Wednesday night against rivals City, They are creating plenty of chances, and I can see Edinson Cavani playing a big part once he gets back from suspension. The striker will miss this one, although I still think United have enough about them to safely go through.”

Owen has gone for a 3-1 win, which is a pretty good prediction considering United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to field a much-changed team for this game.

Solskjaer has even hinted that Odion Ighalo could feature against his old club even though the Nigerian has hardly played this season. It is also thought that the likes of Juan Mata, Donny van de Beek and perhaps even Jesse Lingard may start at Old Trafford. Whether that amount of rotation will affect the team’s fluency, we shall find out.
