Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed he did not want to leave Old Trafford last summer. The Spaniard moved to PSG on a free transfer after his contract expired and he now says there were disagreements with the club that led to his departure:
“When I look back a year ago, my intention was not to leave Manchester United. I disagreed with some of the decisions they made but this happens in football. It happens in every company.”
At the time, there was a great deal of frustration that the 30-year-old was allowed to go, especially as the Red Devils received no fee for him. However, nearly a year on, fans on Twitter feel they are better off without him:
Overrated and now overpaid

Certainly, the likes of Scott McTominay and Fred have stepped up in Herrera’s absence, while the signing of Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window has added an extra dimension to the club’s midfield.
Since his move to Paris, the Spanish midfielder has had a series of injury problems that have prevented him playing a full part in the season. He featured just 18 times in all competitions for PSG before the campaign was cut short.
