Wout Weghorst could make his debut for Manchester United against City this weekend, according to the Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst.
The journalist claims the Red Devils are “aiming” to have him signed in time to be registered for the derby this weekend:

Anthony Martial was rested for the 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup midweek so the Frenchman is expected to start up front at Old Trafford on Saturday.
However, manager Erik ten Hag has expressed some concerns about the forward’s fitness, and if Weghorst is ready to play the last 15 to 20 minutes, he could be a useful weapon.
As we saw at the World Cup when he came against Argentina in the quarter-final, the Dutch striker can have a big impact from the bench. It would be some story if he did make a decisive contribution in the derby for United.
