Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could well sign a contract extension before the New Year, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.
The former BBC reporter is usually very reliable and he claims that the Frenchman may make his decision ahead of January, where he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club.
It had been speculated that Pogba was leaning towards leaving Old Trafford, with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid the favourites for the 28-year-old’s signature.
However, the France international is thought to have been impressed by United’s summer transfer business. The purchases of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho have demonstrated the club’s ambition but it is the return of Cristiano Ronaldo that appears to have inspired a u-turn in Pogba’s thinking.
The Portuguese legend scored a brace in the 4-1 win over Newcastle at the weekend, and it seems that, like everyone else, Pogba has been swept away by the excitement surrounding his new teammate.
