Manchester United have been named as one of three teams who will consider making a bid for Torino striker Andrea Belotti when the transfer window reopens. Reports in Italy claim the Red Devils, along with Everton and Napoli, are interested in the Italian international.
The 26-year-old does have a €100m (£87m) release clause, although it is highly unlikely that he’ll be sold for anywhere close to that figure, with the player’s current contract expiring in 2022.
Supporters on Twitter don’t think Belotti would be a good signing for United:

I follow Torino and even though Belotti is quality I dont think he is United quality. His work rate is insane and with a good midfield will score goals but United dont have that midfield.

Belotti was flavour of the month a few years ago when he scored 28 goals in a single season for Torino but his form has dipped markedly since then. This campaign, he has bagged 15 goals in 31 appearances.
The Italian is, though, a hard-working forward, and his work rate, combined with his ability to hold up the ball, would certainly offer manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer an alternative option. It will be interesting to see if United follow up their interest in the player.
