Manchester United are keeping tabs on Celta Vigo attacking midfielder Gabri Veiga, according to AS.

The Madrid-based newspaper claims the Red Devils are “on the lookout” for the 20-year-old, who has been lighting up La Liga with his performances this season.

Veiga has scored eight goals and contributed three assists in 22 league appearances for Celta, and his eye-catching displays are certainly attracting the attention of visiting scouts.

In addition to United, Arsenal and Newcastle have also been monitoring him, with AS reporting that the latter sent representatives to see him play in Celta’s 1-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid earlier this month.

Observers would have been even more impressed by Veiga’s performance at the weekend, though. The playmaker bagged a brace in the 3-0 win over Real Valladolid.

Celta are said to be willing to let the Spanish Under 21 international leave the Estadio de Balaidos, as long as a club matches their €30m (£26.5m) asking price.
