Manchester United are the frontrunners to sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
The reporter claims that the Red Devils will open the bidding for the 20-year-old with an offer of around £50m as they look to bring the German international to the Premier League.
Fans on Twitter are excited by the prospect of signing Havertz, although there are many that are sceptical about the source of the story:
Oh lord please make this happen??

It would be wise to take this report with a pinch of salt. United’s priority is believed to be Jadon Sancho and the combined cost of the pair is likely to be in excess of £150m which is a huge outlay, especially in the current financial climate.
Havertz is also a player in high demand, with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool having also been mentioned as possible destinations. With other major European clubs also believed to be interested, the Red Devils will likely have to spend a lot more than £50m to capture the German’s signature.
