“Not One Of Them” Journalist Rubbishes Reports That United Are Among PL Clubs Competing For 34M Rated Dutch Star

Manchester United are not interested in re-signing Memphis Depay, according to journalist Jonathan Shrager.

The English reporter, who is usually pretty reliable when it comes to the Red Devils, says that, while there are a number of Premier League teams involved in the race to snap up the Dutch international, United won’t be among them:

Reports in Spain suggest Depay will be sold if Barcelona receive a fee in the region of €40m (£34m), which is a pretty reasonable fee for the 28-year-old.

Depay did struggle during his first spell at Old Trafford, but he has matured into a top-class forward, having been pretty prolific in front of goal over the past few seasons.

Arsenal and Newcastle have been mentioned as other potential destinations so if United are not looking to buy Depay, as Shrager claims, then their former player may yet still face them as an opponent next campaign.
