‘Next Pogba’ Set To Choose Between United And PL Rival With Decision Deadline Set

Manchester United have been in talks with Lille over signing Boubakary Soumare, according to Sky Sports. The 20-year-old, who has been labelled the “next Pogba” by some sections of the media is said to be weighing up a move to Old Trafford.

However, Chelsea are also in the mix for the France Under 21 international with the two English clubs now awaiting a decision from the player himself over which destination he prefers.

Soumare is expected to play for Lille against Paris Saint-Germain on January 26th, and it is believed he will then decide his next club after that fixture.

United are on the lookout for a couple of midfielders this month, and with Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes expected to be one of the two, the Red Devils are hoping for the other to be Soumare.

The Frenchman is more of a defensive midfielder, despite being likened to Pogba. This season, he has made 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring no goals and contributing one assist.
