New Report Makes Big Claim Over Whether United Could Land 67M Chelsea Target In Swap Deal For Martial

Manchester United are interested in Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde but the defender is not expected to be part of talks that could see Anthony Martial moving to the La Liga side, according to Diario de Sevilla.

Martial is said to be keen on a switch to Spain, but Sevilla will find it hard to come up with the funds necessary to sign the France international on a permanent basis.

With that being the case, there has been some discussion over whether the striker could be used in a swap with Kounde.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with Chelsea but the Blues has so far refused to pay the defender’s €80m (£67m) release clause. Including Martial in a part-exchange deal would, therefore, reduce the amount that the Red Devils would have to pay for Kounde.

As it stands, though, Diario de Sevilla say that United have made no “real offer” for the player and it means discussions over Martial will carry on separately. It is believed a loan move is more likely in January, with United paying the bulk of the striker’s salary.
