Neville Reveals The Seven Players He Thinks United Can Build A Team Around

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville thinks manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does have a core of players that he can build a team around. The TV pundit highlighted seven United stars that he feels have the potential to be part of a talented, young and exciting side:

“You can see some real excitement with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James, there’s something to work on there. Defensively, with Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, there’s something to work on there too. The young boy Brandon Williams gives me a great deal of hope.”

Neville did, though, admit that United are far from having a good enough squad to compete at the top end of the Premier League. He thinks the Manchester club will need to sign at least “four or five” top players in order to improve the club’s fortunes.

There has certainly been an improvement in the Red Devils’ form over the past month, barring the defeat to Bournemouth, but Solskjaer’s side still find themselves nine points off fourth-placed Manchester City after 12 games.

Reinforcements will be required in the January transfer window to ensure that they can at least challenge for a top-four spot in the second half of the season.
