Neville Makes It Known Who He Wants To Become United’s Next Manager

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to become the club’s next permanent manager.

The Norwegian has made a case for himself to be appointed beyond the end of the season after winning his first seven matches in charge.

Neville is hoping his former teammate gets the job, although he expects United to make a considered decision in the summer to get the “best person” for the job:

“Personally, I hope he gets the job but from a fan perspective I want Manchester United to appoint the very best person for the job – that could be Ole at the end of the season if he continues to do what he’s doing now.”

Solskjaer is currently on loan from Norwegian Eliteserien club Molde. He has been their head coach for the last three years. Their campaign doesn’t get underway until the end of March and they will have to make do without their manager for at least the first two months of their campaign.

Many United supporters will be hoping he doesn’t return to Norway in the summer, especially if the Red Devils continue to perform as they have done under him. His side next face Arsenal in the FA Cup tomorrow evening.
