Neville Backs United To Make Stunning Move For ‘Gold’ Premier League Ace

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes the Red Devils should do all they can to sign Tottenham forward Harry Kane when the transfer window reopens.

There have been claims in the English media that the 26-year-old would be open to moving to Old Trafford at the end of the season, although Spurs would demand at least £200m for the striker.

Neville thinks Kane would be an incredible signing for United as he’d strengthen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad:

“There are some signings that are like gold, where you just know they are going to work. He’ll always score goals, will always give 100 per cent in training, and is completely reliable as a manager would want.”

“For Manchester United, it would be a perfect signing in terms of what they need. They had Bruno Fernandes come in and he’s done a great job, Harry Maguire at the back. If they can get someone like Kane up front, you’re looking at a fantastic spine.”

As we mentioned in a piece about the pros and cons of signing Kane yesterday, there are certainly massive positives to shelling out on the England captain.

However, those plus points have to be weighed up against the extraordinary cost of securing the forward’s services. If they can bring down Kane’s asking price though, a move for the forward at the end of the season would be a no-brainer, as Neville rightly points out.
