‘Never Say Never…’ Club President Softens Transfer Stance Amid Claims That United Will Pay 106M For 20 Goal Striker

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has not completely ruled out selling Victor Osimhen this summer.

Reports in Italy last week suggested that Manchester United were lining up a €120m (£106m) bid and, when asked about a potential sale, De Laurentiis said:

“I am very good at making contracts, so when they come to me, they are blocked, so keeping them here won’t be difficult. However, never say never. Sometimes there are offers you can’t refuse, so you never know. To me, we’ll see them shine for a long time.”

Osimhen has been in phenomenal form this campaign, having racked up 20 goals in just 24 appearances. The Nigerian will undoubtedly be one of the most in-demand players when the transfer window reopens.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the forward and it’s clear that De Laurentiis will try to play teams off against each other to get the best price possible.

United are in the midst of a takeover but it is believed that transfer funds will be made available to manager Erik ten Hag even if the Glazers are still in place at the end of the season. With a new number nine a top priority, a bid for Osimhen appears very likely.
