Moyes to take charge of Everton again?

Ronald Koeman is the latest Premier League manager to be relieved of his duties after a poor start to the season with Everton.

The former Southampton boss had guided Everton to 18th in the table before the Toffees called time on his tenure, something many expected to happen for a long time after failing to get his team to click despite investing over £140m in the summer.

It is still early days and therefore unclear who will replace Koeman, but former Everton midfielder Leon Osman believes David Moyes would be a good fit – saying the Scot would get the club back on track.

Moyes did a fantastic job as Everton manager during his 11 years in charge, before taking up the job at Manchester United boss in 2013 to replace Sir Alex Ferguson. And Osman insists it should not be out of the question to consider him again despite his poor record since leaving Goodison.

“I think Moyes would be able to do a good job immediately – he knows the club inside and out,” Osman told Sky Sports News.

“Whether he would be a long-term candidate, I don’t know what the chairman is looking at. Is he looking at immediate results or someone who has a real pedigree of winning trophies?”

“Or are they looking at someone like David Unsworth from the academy, who really knows the club and can bring the young lads through and inspire an Everton core?”

“It’s really interesting to see what [club owners] Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright are thinking right now.”

So could the former United, Sociedad and Sunderland manager be in line for a sensational return to Goodison?
