Moises Caicedo Speaks Out On Brighton Future As United Join Chelsea And Liverpool In Summer Transfer Battle

Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo says he is only “focused” on his current club after signing a new four-and-a-half-year contract with the Seagulls.

Over the weekend it was reported that Manchester United will challenge Liverpool and Chelsea for the Ecuadorian’s signature this summer but Caicedo insists he is now happy at the Amex:

“I’m focused here on Brighton, the club which opened the doors. I am very happy to be here and really pleased [with the new contract]. I don’t even think about the speculation. I am focused on Brighton and doing things well here. I am very happy here with my colleagues, with all the club and I will keep giving 100% for this club.”

Caicedo took to social media in January to force through a move to Arsenal, after the London club made several attempts to snap up the 21-year-old.

However, the Gunners are not expected to return with another offer for the midfielder at the end of the season, with Mikel Arteta’s side now focusing their attention on West Ham captain Declan Rice.

That will, of course, increase United’s chances of securing Caicedo’s services, but Brighton have protected his value by getting him to sign a new deal so the player is likely to cost an arm and a leg.
