Mkhitaryan still adapting to the Premier League, he’ll be crucial next year

Manchester United have fallen short of expectations in the Premier League this season but can still end their campaign with significant success, as they seek to add the Europa League title to the League Cup already secured this year.

Jose Mourinho spent heavily last summer to bring the likes of Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Old Trafford and all of those signings have impressed, although many will feel there is still a lot more to come from the summer recruits.

Ibrahimovic has stood out as United’s starring man this season, but had his campaign ended prematurely by injury, whilst Pogba has shown glimpses of his talent but has a lot more to come and the same can be said for Eric Bailly.

Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan is another player who fans can expect more from next season and the former Borussia Dortmund man has stated he’s still adjusting to the Premier League, suggesting he knows there is improvements to be made in his performances.

“What have I learned? I think the pace, the quickness and the strength because, being here, you have to adapt to the English Premier League and to the football. That is what I am doing now.”

“I am really different on the football pitch. I try to be like a beast or a monster! I fight for every ball and try to do my best. Outside of the pitch, I am more quiet and more humble, and I don’t like to be very aggressive or anything like that.

Mkhitaryan’s involvement this season has been affected by injury problems but he boasts an impressive return of four goals in the Premier League and five in the Europa League, where his performances have helped United reach the final.

However, having boasted a phenomenal 17 assists for Borussia Dortmund during his last season in the Bundesliga, Mkhitaryan will be keen to improve further and significant summer additions could bring the best out of the winger.

United have been heavily linked with the services of Antoine Griezmann, who should provide a quality attacking outlet for the Red Devils next season and a starring link-up between the French striker and Mkhitaryan could see Mourinho’s men storm to success.

With Paul Pogba also looking to improve on his performances next season, Manchester United have the platform for success and Mkhitaryan’s importance to the side cannot be overlooked- especially if the Armenian rekindles the sort of form we witnessed during his last season in the Bundesliga.
