Mkhitaryan Pleased With New Signings

Manchester United attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has admitted his delight with the club’s new signings this summer, saying that the trio will make the squad much stronger.

Two of United’s three signings, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic, played vital roles in the Reds’ 4-0 win against West Ham on Sunday, with Lukaku scoring two goals and Matic winning the MOTM vote.

Defender Victor Lindelof was not included in the matchday squad on Sunday, after making a shaky start to life at the club during pre-season. Manager Jose Mourinho has insisted it will take time for the Swedish international to adapt, but backs the centre back to come good in time.

Mkhitaryan though, believes the trio have greatly improved the United squad, and when asked about Matic’s display on Sunday, the Armenian went out of his way to praise all three.

“It was not only Matic. I want to mention as well the other two new signings, Lindelof and Lukaku. They are very good players. They are, I think, Manchester United players.” said Mkhitaryan.

“Matic does a big job on the pitch. He tries to recover all the balls. He defensively does a big job. Lukaku scored his goals and Lindelof is still going to have time to show himself. So I want to say all the players are good signings and they are going to help us a lot.”

“Actually I am surprised,” he said about United signing Matic from Chelsea. “But at the same time I am very happy that we have got him.”
