Mid-Campaign Report For Manchester United Reveals They Should Be Doing Better

United go into their next game at home against Sean Dyche’s in-form Burnley side on Boxing Day looking to deliver a solid performance where they dominate and score plenty of goals.

That may not be that easy as Dyche has his team playing a solid brand of football that has seen them become very hard to beat as well as much improved form on the road as Chelsea found out on the opening day of the season as Burnley stunned the defending Champs 3-2 at Stamford Bridge.

United were keeping pace with their neighbours Manchester City but once United started dropping points City have kept on winning now sitting at the top of the Premier League by 13 points which is the biggest lead a club has had after 19 games in the Premier League era.

United just got dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Championship high-flyers Bristol City in the 1/4 finals this week after failing miserably to take their chances and be clinical.

Jose had United win their Champions League group with only 1 loss away to Basel and they have drawn Sevilla in the knockout round on the 21st of February 2018 playing away for the first leg with the 2nd leg at home 2 weeks later at Old Trafford.

Despite really good team performances from Romelu Lukaku where he has been setting his team-mates up for chances and being really unselfish in recent games unfortunately he has not been getting much service which needs to change fast as he has shown with a good supply he is a top striker and can score in bucketloads.

In their past 7 games across all competitions United have won 4, lost 2 and drawn 1 game which did include a 3-1 win over Arsenal away at the beginning of December.

Despite that it is likely not a very festive vibe at Old Trafford at the moment but all we can say is that after a period of inconsistent form like this past month or so, should mean we are due for a good unbeaten run.

January will be interesting as Jose reportedly wants to add two players. Considering the amount of money spent in the past two summer windows you would be surprised to see new signings in January due to the size of the United squad but you never know.
