Michael Owen Predicts The Scoreline As United Take On Leicester

Ex-Manchester United forward Michael Owen is expecting a tight contest when his former team travel to take on Leicester at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

The Red Devils are in excellent form at the moment, but Owen does expect the Foxes to present a major challenge to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side:

“It’s fair to say that Manchester United’s season has come alive in recent weeks. The Red Devils are up to 3rd and if they win their game in hand, they’ll go 2nd. It’s been quite the turnaround for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men and they should arrive here full of confidence, aiming for an 11th win in a row on the road in the Premier League.”

“Leicester put their home defeat to Everton behind them with a fantastic away result at Tottenham, and for all they have been a bit inconsistent this season, they will be delighted with their 2nd place in the table just now. This one could be tight. I don’t think there is much between the sides and I reckon a draw could be the outcome with both sides scoring.”

Owen has gone for a 1-1 draw and, while that seems like a pretty reasonable prediction, it must be pointed out that United are on a record-breaking run away from home domestically.

Leicester, in contrast, have already lost to Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Everton on their own ground this campaign, so United should really be going into the match as slight favourites.

Solskjaer’s men have been rather inconsistent this season, though, so while an away win is a strong possibility, you can’t be 100% confident that will happen. Whatever the result, it should be a very entertaining game.
