Michael Owen Predicts The Outcome As United Face Crystal Palace

Ex-Manchester United forward Michael Owen is expecting his former club to seal the three points when they take on Crystal Palace this evening.

The BT Sport pundit expects it will be a tightly contested affair at Selhurst Park but he believes that the Red Devils will come out on top and secure the win:

“On home soil, Palace are likely to play on the front foot. If that happens, I think United will once again get their reward on the counter. With that in mind, I reckon the away side will take the points, albeit by a narrow margin.”

Owen predicts a 1-0 victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, but his reasoning does seem to be off the mark. Palace are notoriously defensive under manager Roy Hodgson and the Eagles are likely to sit back for long spells of the game and soak up pressure.

With that being the case, United will have to be patient when in possession and they may need their talisman, Bruno Fernandes, to come up with something special to break the deadlock.

A 1-0 scoreline does seem like the most likely outcome so Owen does get that much right. Hopefully, the Reds can get an early goal and make it an easier match to negotiate.
