Michael Owen Predicts Shock Result As United Take On West Ham

Ex-Manchester United striker Michael Owen is not expecting his former club to come away with the three points when they travel to face West Ham at the London Stadium tomorrow.

The BT Sport pundit feels that the Hammers’ good form, combined with the Red Devils’ inconsistency, could lend itself to a draw or even a win for the home side:

“Just as in previous weeks, it is very difficult to predict how Manchester United will perform. They blow so hot and cold. Their opponents, West Ham, have the look of a decent side and are on the up just now. They have some quality players, and their recent home form has been very good. I think this will be a tough one again for the visitors and I can see West Ham taking a point at the very least.”

Owen has predicted a 2-1 victory for West Ham, which is slightly surprising considering United’s excellent away record over the past year. Despite their difficulties at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have broken a club record in terms of away wins.

They have won eight consecutive league matches on the road, and they have not lost since the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in January.

However, Owen is right to point to United’s unpredictability and, after losing against Paris Saint-Germain at home on Wednesday, this will undoubtedly be a tricky fixture to navigate.
