Michael Owen Makes His Prediction As Manchester United Take On Arsenal

Ex-Manchester United forward Michael Owen does not expect his former club to pick up three points when they come up against Arsenal at Old Trafford tomorrow.

Although the Red Devils’ form has improved with wins over Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig in recent weeks, Owen feels that the Gunners will have enough defensively to frustrate United:

“United themselves have picked up. Their outstanding European results must have raised the confidence levels at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford is really starting to fire and he could be United’s danger man here. However, I think if Arsenal can keep him quiet, they could come away with a point.”

Despite hammering Leipzig, United did struggle to break down Chelsea last weekend, and that may have played a big role in Owen’s prediction for this game. Arsenal are definitely much improved defensively under manager Mikel Arteta and they will also present a threat on the counter-attack.

Out of the two sides, you would have to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team are in slightly better form. The Gunners were unable to score against Leicester last week and their inability to score goals (just eight in six league games so far) means this will likely be a very tight game.
