Mata And Greenwood To Start, Rashford Out: United’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not have much room for manoeuvre in his team selection for the derby clash against Liverpool this evening.

The back four will likely be the same as the one that kept a clean sheet against Norwich last weekend, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, Victor Lindelof and newly-appointed captain Harry Maguire in the centre, and Brandon Williams on the left-hand side.

With no new arrivals in midfield, and with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay still on the sidelines, it means Fred and Nemanja Matic are almost certain to start in the middle of the park.

The biggest question, though, will be who starts up front. Marcus Rashford was not in the provisional matchday squad that met up at the Lowry Hotel last night and is unlikely to feature at Anfield.

It could mean a shakeup in attack, with perhaps Anthony Martial shifting to the left, Mason Greenwood through the middle, and Juan Mata playing off the right. Andreas Pereira may play in a number 10 role.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool:
