Martial craving more at Old Trafford after scooping third Player of the Month award

Manchester United’s Anthony Martial says he is craving more success at Old Trafford after picking up his third Player of the Month award this season.

The Frenchman was voted to win the award for January by the United fans after scoring three goals in the first three league games of 2018 – including a spectacular winner at Burnley.

After scooping the prestigious award yet again, Martial has insisted he is not done there, and aims to take his good form from last month into the rest of the season.

“I feel really good at the moment, I’m training hard and, to be fair, with the matches and results since the new year, we’ve made a decent start, so I hope we can continue in the same vein,” he told MUTV.

Martial has scored 11 goals and produced seven assists so far this season.

“It’s a real honour for me that the supporters have voted for me. I think now it’s the third time it’s happened this season. I just hope I can keep this run going and maybe even try and win a few more of them!”

United have four games remaining this month. First Jose Mourinho’s side travel to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle, before an another away day a week later at Huddersfield Town.

A trip to Sevilla in the Champions League follows before rounding the month off by welcoming Chelsea to Old Trafford.

Despite what is set to be a busy and challenging few weeks however, Martial says he is relishing the challenge ahead.

“We all like it when we’re playing every three days, that’s football at the highest level these days,” added Martial. “We’re always ready and prepared and, what’s more, we have the squad to cope with the amount of games, so it’s an exciting period ahead.”
