Manchester United’s Unexpected Transfer List

Manchester United’s Unexpected Transfer List

Let’s take a look at some of the less obvious transfer targets Manchester United might end up bidding for. Sure you have players like Ibrahimovich or Griezmann whose excellent form and skill recommend them for a move to Old Trafford, but seeing their names linked to the Devils is just speculation until something really happens. Until then, there are some less popular rumors that could actually turn out to be true. It is often that the less reported moves end up with someone putting a deal together on paper. Currently there are three rumors that deserve attention.

Sergio Busquets – Barcelona – According to Metro, the Spaniard might not want to end his career in Spain unless given the proper remuneration. The problem is that the Catalans seem reluctant to meet his financial expectations. It is well-known that the Premier League offers the biggest salaries from the top tier European competitions and it is also known that the competition seen in the UK is not to be found anywhere else in the world. There’s also the fact that Busquets has won every possible trophy with Barcelona meaning that money is one of the most important things keeping him there. The 27-year-old will be a nightmare to sign in terms of negotiations but he might be worth it, or would he? As good as he may be, he could have a really difficult time adapting to the toughness of the Premier League.

N’Golo Kante – Leicester City – His transfer is not something the press came up with ahead of Manchester’s clash against Leicester. Apparently Sir Alex Ferguson has been keeping an eye on Kante. Signed from Caen just under a year ago, the defensive midfielder has simply skyrocketed this season. He has the kind of determination you do not see every day and he looks like he is turning into the dream player. He is currently first in the Premier League when it comes to tackles and 2nd when it comes to interceptions. Anyone who has seen him play can tell you this is the kind of guy who can cover for each and every one of his teammates for the whole 90 minutes.

Sadio Mane – Southampton – Apparently Depay needs to be given the chance to improve and could use some competition. If Rashford continues down the same path and Martial does the same, there may not be actual room for Depay to push through in his current form. The competition could come from Southampton. Mane is a fighter, a speedster and probably willing to be a substitute at Manchester or at least try his luck against the other squad members.
